When societal issues change rapidly, information structures must keep pace. At the Swedish Migration Agency, you will help build the order that makes complex operations clearer, more cohesive, and better prepared for the future.

We are now looking for Information Architects who want to take a key role in developing our information architecture and creating the conditions for a more efficient, legally secure, and long-term sustainable information flow.

Here, you work at the intersection of operations, technology, and governance. You become part of a context where information architecture is crucial for meeting both legal requirements and operational needs – in an organization operating in a changing environment where digitalization is a central part of development.

The mandate of the Digitalization and Development Department is to drive the development of the Migration Agency's processes and capabilities through innovation and digitalization. The department works to increase efficiency and quality in operations through integrated process management and business development, with or without IT components. This department is also responsible for the agency's IT operations and infrastructure.

About the Job

As an Information Architect here, you play a vital role in building and further developing the Migration Agency's overarching information architecture. You work both strategically and operationally to create, develop, and maintain the models needed to establish and support the target architecture. You contribute to viewing information as a strategic asset and structuring it in a way that strengthens both operations and the agency's legal responsibilities.

Examples of tasks:

  • Capture and coordinate the need for mapping information volumes within different operational areas and development initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain information models for the current state and future state that guide development towards the decided target architecture.
  • Take long-term responsibility for the development and maintenance of the Migration Agency's central information architecture and information models according to applicable standards.
  • Ensure that information models are used in business development and provide support to development initiatives in practical application.
  • Educate and guide roles in the development work that need to understand and use the information models.
  • Conduct investigations and produce analytical decision support materials.
  • Collaborate within the architecture function and with other architecture roles to ensure a cohesive architecture.

The position is located within the Strategy and Information Governance section and forms an important part of the agency's virtual architecture function. The function is led by two chief architects and consists of several different architecture roles. The role involves many contact points, both within the DUA, with other departments, and with external partners.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone driven by understanding, analyzing, and structuring large and complex information volumes. You have strong analytical skills and see the big picture without losing the details in the information structure.

You are collaborative and have a natural ability to lead and coordinate work. At the same time, you are pedagogical and communicative, with the ability to explain complex relationships to different target groups, both orally and in writing. You are unpretentious, create engagement around you, and contribute to participation and progress in operations.

As a civil servant, high demands are placed on judgment as well as security and confidentiality awareness. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and suitability for the position.

We are looking for you who have:

  • Relevant university or college education, at least 120 credits, in fields such as data/system science, informatics, engineering science, or other education combined with relevant work experience.
  • Several years of experience working with information and/or business architecture.
  • Documented experience in information, conceptual, and/or data modeling, for example ArchiMate, UML, IRM, or similar.
  • Experience working in EA tools, for example Sparx EA, Aris Connect, or similar.
  • Good understanding of requirements for information management from legal, operational, and digitalization perspectives.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English.

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Certification as an information architect or business architect.
  • Experience in establishing target architecture in large and complex organizations.
  • Experience with architectural frameworks, for example TOGAF.
